Resources for Teaching Students with Specific Types of Disabilities

Before you begin... it is extremely important to not think about accommodations or strategies as a menu of items. Each person with a disability is unique with strengths and struggles that may or may not have anything to do with disability. An accommodation that works for one type of learner may benefit other students with completely different types of disabilities. Universal design teaches that some accommodations may even benefit all the students in your classrooms! With that said, this information is provided to give you some ideas to make your classroom more welcoming and accessible.
