Getting Started in College
- Check out the VA Campus Toolkit for common resources you can find at your college or university
- Student Veterans of America ensure today’s and tomorrow’s veterans are supported in their transition to education and employment. Search for "disabilities" to find specific information.
- VetSuccess on Campus is a federal program that works with Vocational Rehabilitation to help veterans transition from military service to college; it's available on 104 campuses around the country
- Military.com published "What should veterans look for in colleges with programs for veterans?" NCSSD also has resources for exploring and comparing disability services offices.
- The Wounded Warrior Project provides educational services to members and 33% of those involved in the WWP are in college.
- Get information about transferring college credits you may have earned from other campuses, or during your active duty.
Financial Aid
- Scholarships for veterans with disabilities
- Dependents of disabled veterans may be eligible for assistance with funding college and training programs, like apprenticeships; the US Department of Veterans Affairs has more information
